Yesterday I picked up a Tecaqua (yeah, I never heard of it either) 64 gallon tank for free. It came with a like new JBL Cristal Profi 901 Greenline Filter, Tetratec 200 heater, and a Eheim 100 air pump. Needless to say I was pretty excited.

After getting it home and evaluating it, I can tell that the bottom (only the bottom) has been resealed. No problem as this is a project tank for me anyway and resealing it is no big deal. But the hood is another story. It's pretty trashed and it's an odd size 100cm long x 45cm wide. I cannot find replacement that will fit.

I am considering going with no hood and just a good set of stand lights. Is this a bad idea? Will happy fish jump? I am interested in other solutions as well. Thanks in advance for the help!
