Was just discussing my 2 tanks with my wife and the subject got on to snails. I mentioned that I was surprised I had none because they can get brought in with new plants etc. at that point I wandered over to my smaller 17g tank and sure enough, there was a small snail crawling across the glass. Talk about timing!

I've started to notice quite a few appearing. Hopefully when I get some shrimp it will keep them in check

Also, if you don't overfeed you shouldn't have a population boom. That is the biggest problem with getting snails. They can easily be kept in check with proper feeding and maintenance.
