new and confused about filtration

I have my 75g set up and its my first marine aquarium I'm just a bit lost on how its supposed to stay clean in fresh water tanks they alwase have filters taking out all of the debris is the live rock suposed to take on this task alone?

Yes and no. Live rock has bacteria coating it that helps maintain the ammonia-nitrite-nitrates. At about 30 gallons and up a protein skimmer is recommended to catch debris.
