New Betta

I got a betta today and its still in the bowl it comes in. I have a 3 gal tank running right now and i was wondering when it would be okay to put the betta in that tank. and if not soon were should i put it? i have to other tanks up and running so maybe i can put some BB from those tanks in there to speed it up. how long should i wait? cuz i dont want it to still be in the bowl.

If you use bb from your other tank then I would say tommorow. Tonight would probably be fine but I havent had much luck putting fish in a tank the first night lol

I'd say right away if you're going to add filter media from an established tank. Just keep an eye on parameters for a while and do water changes if any spikes occur but I think you'll be fine. You may want to acclimate the fish slowly to the new tank though using something like drip acclimation. Congrats on your new betta!

haha thanks, i put him in there that night cuz i couldnt wait but i did it very slowly and hes doing fine
