I have 3 parrots in with my featherfin cat. And I run into the same issue with feeding.

So, after much trial and error, what works for me is to mix a portion of flake food in 1/4 cup with tank water and Garlic Guard or Vita-Chem. I let the flakes really absorb the fluid. Then, I dump the entire 1/4 cup into the tank. This sends the flake food flying everywhere through the water column. While the parrots are on their chase, I toss a couple of algae wafers down throught an open spot at the back of the tank. The fish never see them land and the featherfin is all over them.

My feather fin is the same way. He dominates all the food in his half of the tank at night time! Haha
