I have a new sharpnose puffer and a naso tang in quarantine right now. Can either of these be treated with a copper treatment? I've heard some fish cannot be treated with copper.
Both fish are better off being treated with hyposalinity for C. irritans if you have a refractometer and if they develope at all. If not, both will tolerate a Cupramine treatment even the puffer. Do not use ionic copper with a puffer.
If using a refractometer, 14-16 ppt. If heavier evaporation or your not able to top off twice daily, shoot for 14 ppt. If using a swing arm hydrometer (not recommended at all) it should be at 1.009 SG.
