new sand in tank

Hi so I just added sand to my 40g tank about 4 days ago and it still has just a little milkyness left should I wait awhile longer and see what happens or would it hurt to add some clear water? Thankyou

First did you rinse it until the water ran clear? If it's been 4 days and it's still cloudy I would do a large water change. Mine was clear 12 hours after set up.

Mine was actually clear on set up but it's a dirted with a play sand cap all was going well and crystal clear until I turned up the water too high on the water changer and I sent sand and dirt everywhere! Not one of my finer moments! As long as you rinse the sand well and fill slowly over paper towels, crumbled newspaper or a plate, you will have crystal clear water in no time.
