New tank in Indiana

I recently got a ten gallon tank and am currently cycling it! What should I put in it? Should I get a bubble wall? Are Java Ferns a good starter plant?

Java fern is super easy. I know cuz I'm new to fish keeping and somehow my java fern is still alive I also have some Anubias nana that are doing well and java moss.
