Hi guys I cleaned out my tanks about 2 hours ago and I'm testing them now.. the ammo in both tanks seem really high.. could this be caused by putting too much prime in? Or will it take 24 hours+ for the ammo to go down once I've changed the water? (I pretty much changed out all the water) Help T_T

Also if in 24 hours the ammo has gone and nitrite is still at 0 does that mean my tank is finally cycled?!
Long tank:

PH: 8.0
Ammo: see photo (right vial)
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5 or less

Mango's tank:

PH: 7.5
Ammo: See photo (left vial)
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5 or less

Yes if the ammo goes down to zero in 24 hours your tank is cycled

Well then I'm not quite sure...but I would think they would be cycled or at least most of the way cycled since you have had them running for so long

Ha yea I really hope so :p Really bored of having an empty tank now :p So will ammo always go really high when i do a water change? Is this safe for fish? (Once my tanks are fully cycled how often do you think I will need to do PWC's and how much roughly) Thankyou :)

Well I don't check my params as often as I should so I'm not to sure about that...but a water change once a week should be good and about 30-50% I would say

If your tank is fully cycle you should have 0 ammonia. Water changing lazy guess 50% something more accurate you need to test for nitrates to determine how much.

hmm ok, we'll I'll post back tomorrow around the same time as today and hopefully the ammo will be down to 0 and I can go get some fish finally!!!
Thanks guys

ok its definitely been over 24 hours now so here we go! Ammo in mangos tank is too high and today when i got up his fins have torn!! :( is this due to the high ammo or could it be because i put the filter under water and left it on to high? (Ive moved it back to being above the water now and he seems a bit more relaxed) I feel so bad that his fins are torn :( Also a while back someone told me when my ammo results are that slight yellow colour it could still mean its at 0.. Do you think the centre tank is cycled because if so i will go get my fish tomorrow and then swap mango in (I know i have to put him in last)

Long Tank:

PH: 8.0
Ammo: 0 - 0.6?
Nitrite: 0.1
Nitrate: 10

Mango's tank:

PH: 7.5
Ammo:
Nitrite: 0.1
Nitrate: 5

THE TIME HAS COME!!!!! :D I have my fish WHOOO :D I'll post photos now thanks everyone for your help, im still working on the vase tank but if it fails again after this time im going to give up on it, but I already have another tank in mind that i think is a 10 Gallon looking at it, its a good size anyway but currently has a resident.
Unfortunately because of my selection Mango will have to remain in his current betta house, you'll see why in the photos! But I intend to make the bigger tank all his when its all ready! (Another 9 weeks here we go T_T)

Hope you like my choices! :D And if theres anything wrong with them dont tell me :p

I fed my betta's some bloodworms, they were the type that are frozen in cubes.. i cut it so the tank with 3 betta girls got about 3 quarters and Mango got one quarter to himself, although i think the snails ate alot of them too XD

But now Mango and 2 of the girls are really fat! Did i feed them too much (Ive never given him blood worms before i was going to just give them as a treat once a week.

I take is on a day i give them bloodworms i dont need to feed them their normal flake food right?
