New tank upgrade :)

I just bought a new tank and I've never changed my fish from my old tank. How do I transfer the fish from one to another? Do I have to cycle the new tank again? Or can I just pass the filter to the new and move all of my fish?

Set up the new tank with as much stuff as possible from the existing tank; decorations, substrate, plants, etc. Move the filter or put the filter media into the filter for the new tank. Once the tank is fully set up, acclimate the fish appropriately then turn them loose! You can keep the fish in tupperware or rubbermaid containers for a few hours while you set up the new tank.

Just transfer enough for the fish... So a pail full. Top it up with fresh de-chlorinated water. It's like a big water change. That's it.
