Hello from Maine. Yesterday bought a 29 gal kit at Petco. Got it set up and running and added a water conditioner. This morning did a ph and got 7.0 to 7.5, then skimmed a oily looking film from the top of the water. I've added an air pump with 2 4"air stones on one end of the tank, 2 20lb bags of rinsed substrate, 4 fake plants of different heights, 1 small castle, and finally 1 fairly large stone with hiding holes in it. Looks pretty good and the grandchild likes the look. Will be starting with 2 guppies, and 2 mollies, she's already picked them out. Tank is mostly for her when she visits, which is everyday. Fish will be added tomorrow, as heater not getting temp up. Running about 72 to 74% right now. It's a preset heater that came with the kit, 100watt.
