They are reading 90 right now just did water change and vacumed sand 3 days ago ammonia is 0 nitrite 0 and ph has dropped from 7.0 to 6.0. What are some things i can do to get them back to normsl and prevent spikes in future.

There are all sorts of reasons for high nitrates:

Overstocked on fish.
Overfeeding fish.
Lack of filtration.
Lack of water changes.
Lack of maintenance on filters.
Nitrates in tap water.

I'd start with a few daily 50% water changes witn testing done before and after, then adjust your water change schedule to maintain a level of 20ppm and below. If your overstocked or underfiltered you may need to perform water changes more than once per week. Let your test results determine your schedule.

What size tank is it? How many fish are in it? You need some plants to help absorb those trates.
