Normal for Pleco?

Are these discolorations normal for a pleco? Looks almost like dry skin. Have had him for about a month and he has grown so I'm assuming he eats ok plus he poops like a machine.

Feeding all fish tetramin flakes and hikari algae wafers and hikari catfish wafers
 
Yep, it's pretty normal, as far as I've been told we still don't know what it is, but most plecos get it :)
 
Let me offer a possibility - in pet shops common plecos tend to get that washed out look when in a tank with a light substrate...
 
Actual real veggies? How big of a piece? Does it sit in tank for awhile or do they devour it?
