Aquarium Advice Newbie
Just set up my first planted tank over the weekend. Went the DIY substrate route. Did a 90% water change out on Sat. due to the tannis in the substrate. Looked good for a few days and now starting to color up on me. But not as bad as the first time. I introduced a dozen ghost shrimp and a beta, lost one shrimp. Betta and remaining shrimp seem to be thriving. I have noticed a very transparent substance, looks like it might have a slimey substance, but haven't disturbed the tank. You can see it around the rocks on the bottom and around the hairgrass. Another water change is in the cards tonight. Any other suggestions? Thanks alot.
