I recently hooked up my sump....had to re plumb it. So the water is circulating at a much higher rate now. Also the tank is circulating an extra 20 gal thanks to my sump. There was brown diatom algae on my sand and It seems like it has now been stirred up. My water is getting cloudy ...kind of brownish yellow. My tank is still showing a small amount of ammonia but the tank has been cycling for 6-7 weeks now.

Yes I did use tap water but have been using RO water to top off. Is this condition going to get better on its own? Is it something that just happens and will run its corse?

Isthere anything I sould do?

TIA

If you filter with some activated carbon the yellow color should clear up. The free floating diatoms if thats indeed what it is will also clear up on its own. Adding some filter flos to outlet of the drain line into the sump can help filter out some of them aswell.
