I was wondering if it was okay to leave my filter suction covered up like how it is currently. Will this significantly disturb my mechanical filtration?

None of the rocks are hitting the suction, I just aquascaped my rocks around the suction to prevent my future anemone (waiting another 5 month, LOL. Also to make my tank look better.) from getting sucked into the filter.

Without an easy flow to your filter intake, I would say you woul find an increase of detritus in the tank.

So then what does?
Snails>> Cerith and nassarius.
Crabs and shrimp
Cucumbers (mature tank only)
Starfish>> Brittle/serpent
Amphipods, worms and copepods.

Cheers
Steve
