One inch of fish per gallon rule - invertebrates

Hello,

We all know about the one inch of fish per gallon rule.

My question is, does the same apply for invertebrates? I have a couple ghost shrimp, each about one inch long and I wasn't sure if the same rule applied, so I understocked the tank. But, if they aren't a big bio-load since they consume the waste of the other fish, I'd like to add another fish.

This is a site I like to look at they tend to have some pretty good stuff... and I have never heard anyone say this thing was inaccurate...

The inch/gallon rule is barely a guideline as it is for fish, but for inverts it definitely goes out the window because they have a much lower bioload. I think one standard people tend to use with small shrimp is approx 10/gallon. In the case of something like RCS, I've noticed that if they are in a small area and overpopulated I will stop seeing as many juveniles, so I think they take care of the overpopulation issue themselves.
