opinion on par38 bulb

I have a dimmable par 38, and after the initial coolness factor wore off, I didn't even use it, I just set it where I want it and put it on a timer.

You could go with the non dimmable version as long as you can adjust the height of the bulb from the water (in case you need it further away if light is too strong, or closer if light is too weak).

Par 38's are awesome.
 
I'm using two par30 bulbs from boostled.com and am digging them. Kind of wish they were dimmable but they are easy to adjust the height on so not that big of a deal.
