Overstocked?

I have a 10 g tank w 4 guppies. If I added a bristlenose for algae control and detritus would I be over stocked?

With the bristle nose, probably. Reducing your lighting is a more effective means of controlling algae.

I would say a bristlenose pleco needs a minimum of 20 gallons. Snails would be a more suitable option, however as stated above, reducing light would also help.
