Happy New Year all!

The top of my aquarium is now very well sealed off--my fish would have to pull some "Escape From Alcatraz" moves to get out now. I've had glass covers for the top all along, but I recently added plastic strips in between my HOB equipment to seal off that area now too.

QUESTION: Can this well sealed aquarium top be a problem for properly oxygenating the tank?

(The fish behavior is normal right now, but I'm still asking just in case)

Is the water breaking at the surface? Do you have an air stone of some sort?

Plus, you have to open the top to feed them, right?

As long as you have a small space between the water and glass you should be ok. The holes where your filter and equipment come through admit enough oxygen. :D

Aslong as there is holes where the wires and stuff goes I don't see that it will be a problem.

But it would be better fi you did have an airstone, or something similar. If you don't then, well it might not be a problem but just to be sure i'd put one or two in.
