Ok so a few updates. I finished the canopy and dropped the lights in. Made a few minor modifications to my sump. Picked up a red sea wave master pro, three korali evo 750's, marineland 250w stealth heater, and a filter sock to clean up the water a bit. As for the more interesting acquisitions i picked up a clam, plate coral, and two zoa frags. They are all in a little ten gallon while i finish messing with my main display. The plate and zoas look a lot better then they do in these (terrible) pictures because i have the lights for the 90 sitting over a 10g and i think they are not happy with the overload of light right now. Sorry these pictures are so terrible i just took them real fast. I'll get better ones once everything is settled and looking better.

Getting pretty excited about everything coming together and i'm hoping thing will actually start looking nice some time soon.

You need to run a filter with some filter floss in it to clear the water up. Worked like a charm for me when I did the 120.

If you have a HOB or something it will make a huge difference. Just need some filter floss..

I threw on the filter sock just before i took these pictures. I was to lazy to let it do its thing before i took the pictures. It didn't help i was messing around in the sump and stirred up all kinds of junk about a half hour before hand too.

The clam looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That picture is actually terrible compared to what it actually looks like. The dark bluish/purple part is actaully much brighter purple but i think the camera was having trouble with the contrast of color and lights. I am going to have to mess with my camera settings and get a better picture of it. You should also stop by and check it out.

Ok so i moved most of the coral over to the main display and hung the lights back up. A few more quick pictures. I left one of the zoas in the QT because there is some algae growing on the disk that i want to see if i can get off before i move them over.

I looked at several fish stores over the weekend to find a good fish but was unsuccessful.

Just for anyone wondering, those pictures Pat has posted of the clam do not begin to do it justice! It is amazing!

Thanks all. Yeah i really like the clam. I would like to try a dwarf angel or a copperband butterfly but now i am worried that they will nip at the mantel. I really like both fish thought so it is a tuff decision if i want to try it or not.

Yeah i guess i was thinking of feather dusters that they pick at. I really want both a dwarf angel and a copperband but i don't think i will be able to keep the dwarf.

Since when? I require proof.
The only time I have heard of them bothering clams is if they are on the sandbed, which pats shouldn't be anyway. And even that is rarely documented.

I agree with you Jim. The longest I have been able to keep a CBB alive is 6-8 months. However, the couple I tried, never picked at my crocea clam.

Clam is part of the natural diet of a CBB, the only reason I got a clam was because my CBB suddenly died. Call BRK and ask John about putting a CBB in with a bunch of clams. He lost $$$$$$$ in clams because the CBB had a feast. They are a reef safe fish with caution. Also keep in mind that they will pick pods out of the rock work and compete with scooters and mandarins.

Some C. rostratus will require live foods to induce a feeding response. Foods such as live clams or black mussels that have had their shells broken open, or sessile invertebrate-encrusted live rock can initiate feeding. Live brine and frozen mysid shrimps have also been used to get reluctant fish to feed.

Come on Jimbo...google is your friend.

Just saying, from the dozen or so threads I double checked, no one had a problem. In any species there is always a fish that does crazy things or defies the normal behaviors.
Like you said, agree to disagree.

That clam really is sweet. The tank is looking really good. Are you planning on keeping the back panel see through?

No, that is only of the last things on my list to pick up is a background. I am just going to go with a solid black. I can't stand seeing all the cords and stuff behind the tank. I'm hoping that will help to hide the power heads a bit as well.

I have heard it both ways on the CBB. I'm not sure what i'll do yet. Think i should give the dwarf angel a shot or just let it be?
