A buddy of mine just picked up a new 75g Penn Plax aquarium with that Starphire Glass (Low Iron Content) which looks real cool because its clear....not blue like most aquariums.
He is going reef and when he told me he was going to put a siphon overflow box on I asked him why he just doesn't drill through the back. We got to talking about it and he's not sure if this type of glass can be drilled like a normal aquarium. Its not tempered on the sides, but will the low iron content make it more brittle or anything and make it non drillable?

I have no experience in drilling starphire but I've drilled quite a few holes for other folks. From what I've read it is no different than regular glass. The key is being patient with it.

I would recommend googling it and see what some other folks have done. Maybe even look on youtube, someone might even have a how-to video up.
