This is my first post and just didn't know how to get advice on this one. I have a pentair or rainbow lifegard single heater module. It is supposed to house a heater so it is not seen in the tank. anyways the cylinder is 12 inches high by about 3 or4 inches in diameter. I am missing the original cap for a heater and only have a replacement cap so I wont be able to use a heater. I have another pentair module that houses the mechanical and chemical filtration. My question is, if anybody is familiar with how these look, could I fill it with some media and make it a biological filter? also if yes what media should i use? I have a 75 gallon freshwater tank....Is this adviseable?
