According to the formula CO2 = 3 * KH * 10(7-pH) I get a CO2 of 9, which = not enough.
But according to the chart on my test kit (Sera Master Kit), the concentration of CO2 depending on pH and KH = 12, which according to their chart = sufficient CO2.
This all new to me, so I am confused. Who do I believe? I have not installed a CO2 set-up (but have one). Wanted to wait and see if I really need it for my low-light set-up. Don't quite know what to do here.
Some potentially useful info :
newly planted tank (day 3)
17 gallons
11W light fixture (I know...too low, I have another on order)
5 or 6 plants (will be adding a few more today, for a medium density planted tank)
cycling w/ ammonia (as of yesterday), so obviously no fish yet
fertilized with JBL Ferropol when I planted
Any info will be greatly appreciated!
