Aren't cleaner wrasse difficult to keep without large enough fish to satisfy their parasite eating needs? I was always under the impression they're a bit hard to get them to eat say brine shrimp, etc

No kidding did you get that from a local pet store or was that from an online vendor?

Cleaner wrasse will not live for a long time in captivity. I`ve never seen one live longer than 3 months no matter how many parasites or food that is in the tank. Most people get one knowing that they only live for a couple months but they will pic parasites off in the meantime. They will never keep up with the parasite which makes it imperative to treat the tank and get rid of it your self.
 
as a friend of drummerj i can say that he got it at a LPS and boy does it look good..(check out mine 2)
