Daphnia are People Too.
I have a pitbull pleco who seems to have ich. I will try to put up a picture later. He is covered in evenly spaced small whitish dots. They are bumpy (I just mean that they are not flat against him).
He is in a 40 gallon community with angels, another pitbull, kuhli loaches, 3 mystery snails, a bamboo shrimp, corys, and a Bolivian ram.
Water params: temp is 80F, ammo=0, nitrite=0, nitrate=.25
I do 25% pwc every week. The tank has been running for 8 months.
I have had the fish for 2 weeks, but, shame on me, I did not quarantine him. I did remove him from the community and put him in quarantine.
So, is there any other disease or fungus that looks like ich that this could be? If I were to treat the whole tank, what do you recommend? I have several species of "scaleless" fish and I have heard they can be sensitive to some medications. If I treat it by raising the temp to 86F, will that be ok for the inverts and my particular species of fish? If I do use a medication, I will remove the inverts.
