Plants sick?

Hi I recently set up a 12 gallon freshwater planted tank. I've never used real plants so this was all new to me. 2 weeks after I bought them, I noticed they were starting to turn brown, and grow little fuzzy things on the branches that look like mold. What is happening to my tank? I use fluval stratum, root tabs, a fluval supplement, and adequate lighting. I should also point out that I have added fish 1 week before this happened, and three of them have already died! Sorry for such a long post, but I would REALLY appreciate suggestions. Every thing helps. Thanks!

1. This shouldn't really affect plant but do you test your water perams?

2. Pics? What type of plants?

3. What light? What supplement?

I have diy osmocote plus root tabs, replaced once every 3 months

API co2 booster once a day:

I agree with the need for pictures. Hard to do much of anything without them.

The only plant that seems to be getting affected are my water sprites. I have been using the stock fluval edge LED lighting, and I use a fluval plant supplement similar to flourish. I know it's hard to tell, but I'll get pictures up shortly
