One of my pineapple swordtails (male) may have bred with my female sunburst platy. I know she was not pregnant when I got her since I have had her for 4 months with no babies. She has a gravid spot, and is the only platy in my tank. I have heard of them cross breeding before, but did this happen to me? Also, will there be any problems with the babies from this? Plus, this platy is pretty big, about the size of my austrailian rainbowfish when not pregnant.

They probably have cross bred. Although if it is that big, could it be a female swordtail, and not a platy? They look similar, which is why they cross breed.

No, its not a female swordtail. It has the markings of a platy.
