so this is my little struggle fish who always seems to have something wrong. recently, his tail has been looking worse and worse but i thought it was maybe aggressive fish until i separated them and it continued happening. does this look like fin rot or could it be something else? if so, is there anything i can do to help or is it too far progressed? thank you for the help.

Looks like it's prob fin rot. Api makes 3 medications (antibiotics) that will treat it. E.m. erythromycin, furan-2, and fin and body cure (doxycycline). It's treatable, and not too late. Aquarium salt will help. Make sure the tank he's in stays very clean. Treat for 2 rounds per directions on box.

Just fyi, those antibiotics will kill the beneficial bacteria (the cycle) in the treatment tank

And melafix or pimafix are OK to use in conjunction, but they won't heal it at that stage

thank you for your help i have him in a quarantine tank with some antibiotics. his tail is getting a lot worse very quickly but i’m hoping things will take a turn for the better soon.
