so my long time mail jack dempsey and my long time oscar has been together and now here's where the problem is my JD is digging a whole out in the gravel. I reached in the tank to cover the whole and he attacked me to protect it. I know this sounds dumb but could the two possible have mated. Can they do that. Is my JD going to lay eggs..... Anything?

I'm not very familiar with either of those fish but I can say with some confidence your male JD is not going to lay eggs.

Yeah, I agree. No eggs! And they wouldn't have paired up. Not a jack Dempsey and an Oscar.

Yeah I thought thesame thing and for years every one has told me to seperate them but they always have been good together and still are but I have never seen the "nesting" on the part of my jack d. Has anyone ever seen a male JD do the same that mine is doing?
