My Polleni have started to breed which is apparently fairly rare. When I turned on the light this morning the male had a big set off eggs hanging out of his mouth. I think he ate them. The female has dug a huge nest to lay in. I'm hoping she lays some more eggs, that would be VERY cool.

I'm wondering what triggered this. I had them in one tank where they killed another fish and were harassing others. Moved them to the big 180 where they got the snot beat out of them by the big fish. Finally put them in a 75 with hatch fish and tetras, this tanks has black sand substrate. That was a few days ago and they are breeding. Wondering if it is the substrate or the release of stress.
