Pool Filter Sand

So from many people i have heard it is safe to use pool filter sand and at my local pool store they sell Silica Sand. i was wondering if this would be safe for my fish or should i just buy sand specifically for my tank

that actually helped alot I think im going to go with the pool filter sand
