Well either would work. EC and Floramax are the same so you can mix it. Just get what ever is cheaper. The second option, is up to "you" and if you want to go that route. I just merely threw it out there as a creative option. Only negative is that sometime you'll find it a PITA to keep the beach area clean of dark EC granules rolling on top of it.
