I almost got one. My mom wanted it because its pretty. And then she saw the price tag!

Yeah me too. I was so close to having one but I thought about the correct care and that it is quite a rare species. Plus you really have to know your stuff about keeping them alive.

My high fin leopard pleco :)

My pleco likes to hide in the cave a lot even though it doesn't really fit so couldn't get a good picture of it but still somewhat cool pics.

It actually cleaned pretty well for a pleco. On the first day it cleaned all the glass :)

My ram kinda wanted to peek in :p

So random question....I'm looking into buying a gold nugget pleco and wanted any input on their care. I've heard from a few people they are hard to keep. Any suggestions or experience?

Very hard to keep, on a scale of 1-5 they're a solid 4. It also depends what kind of goldnugget you get. Iriri yellows are easier than goldnuggets and look similar. These would be a 3.

Just have pristine water and if you can keep them alive when you get them home, excellent. These plecs don't ship well and are almost always wild caught, so the bacteria in their gut dies off alot. Easy to digest foods are the way to go the first few weeks. I personally prefer aged aquarium driftwood with aufwuchs

Thank you very much!! I work at my local petco as an aquatic specialist and every time we get them in their gut is very sunken sink, which is never a good sign. We place them in a planted tank with discus and driftwood. We only have algae wafers and shrimp pellets to feed them. The aufwuchs is minimal from all the plants. I can add some well covered rocks soon. Hopefully he will survive and I can get his gut back into shape

It felt quite a lot at the time plus we don't get to see him much as he likes to hide in the plane

I know the feeling. My sunshine hides all day!!! He's around 8 inches now but in a 210 gallon there is still plenty of places to hide

My two new guys. Picked them both up as common plecos!!

The first one is a common, mine got that coloration when I had him on flourite substrate as well. The second guy however isn't a common, what a keeper :) it looks nice.

Ya I've been looking on planetcatfish and it kinda looks like a L075. Only time will tell I guess!!! Very happy with the $2.00 purchase
