Preferred food

I have recently purchased new African cichlids that are fairly young about 2.5 inches max I would say. They are settling in nicely however they do not seem to like any of the food I have and have always used. I have multiple kinds (sinking, floating, and flake) they seems to be interested but only taking them in and spitting them out. Anyone have any recommendations on a good food my new friends might enjoy?

I have one hap venustus (giraffe)and two peacocks. So far I have tried API, some national geo brand, top fin, tetra, and omega.

I feed mine tetra cichlid crisps and Hikari gold sinking pellets and they eat both. All my African and new world cichlids seem to really like the crisps

Ev1 always raves about omega one, but none of my fish have ever really liked them. Not enough junk food for them i guess, lol

You might try Southern Delight. I haven't kept Africans, myself, but a YouTuber I follow who keeps mainly big cichlids liked it so much, he started selling it.

Some species love greens. I used to feed mine defrosted garden peas. They loved them. Great protein too. Hikari and Tetra Doromin are pretty good foods. You might try Vitalis Aquatic Nutrition. Specialist foods. Probably the best on the market.

They might need to be wormed too since you just got them. Prazipro and/or general cure are good mild wormers. General cure works best if added to the food so they eat it. Several tutorials on line with ways to make it (you tube also). It's cheaper to make medicated food and works much better

Are they wild? Flubendazole is a reasonably safe fish wormer. You can buy it on eBay as Fish Bendazole. If you have large volumes to treat, you can purchase Flubendazole pig wormer 5%w/w, work out the dosage and use that. Safe for marine fish also but not reef.
