How do I tell if I have a pregnant fish? The picture below is one of 2 gold doubloon I have in my tank. When I got them they were the same size and shape. Now this one has an enlarged underside. Looks pregnant to me. Thoughts? As a side note one of my 3 identical looking pred tail platy looks the same.

Also I should note, I am clueless and know looking into what I should do. It appears 2 fish are prego, so far I have seen 2 types of info: 1st, leave the fry in the main tank with the parents and other fish as long as there are hiding places they will be fine, 2nd separate the mother and allow the fry to grow up in their own separate tank. I'm thinking the 2nd option sounds correct? Do I keep the mother in the tank as well? What other tips would be useful here, it would be nice to have some survive to adulthood. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Option 2 is safer and better survival rate.

Tank:
Preferably 20g or larger.
Sponge filters
Heater
No substrate
Plants if necessary.

Some people feed tiny brine shrimp, some crush up flakes really small. It's whatever the fry will eat.

Keep up on feeding and water changes and they should be fine.

Oh and remove the parents after birth.
