Prospective water maintainer looking for start up tips prior to purchase

Hi, glad to have found your site. I am in the information gathering stages of aquarium keeping, & would appreciate any advice on tanks, filters, cycles, please. When I do purchase I would hope to have a considerable sized tank as I feel this is a better environment. I don’t plan to rush, & would be projecting purchase of equipment to start earliest next summer once I have established a good knowledge, & happy with the equipment I intend to purchase. Excited to start looking through the forums, & please do say hi below - all advice, & experience gratefully received! K
