puzzled about a fish i just got

I am puzzled as to what this fish could be that I just got at my lfs today. There was no name for it the guy told me that it was a pleco and charged me for one.
The part that is puzzeling is that it looks exactly like a snowball pleco but it has the wiskers and mouth of a catfish and it also has these spiny/spikey little things along it's back. Does any1 have any idea what it could be?

I'm not great on id's for plecs but a picture goes along way.

I'll try and get 1 it's gonna be hard though cause all it's done is hide in the back of the tank inside the leaves of my plants. And I know that plecs are a type of catfish but this thing has the body shape similar to a striped rapheal
