With so many of us having trouble with new fish, I wonder whether it makes sense to put new fish into the quarantine aquarium and raise the temp and do salt right away? The LFS is good about replacing dead fish, but I'd rather not have my fish die in the first place. Lost my gourami yesterday, and LFS will replace it, but I am treating the tank for a week since the gourami was the last one in despite having been quarantined, so I think he infected the whole tank. I'm using Ich Attack instead of salt because I have three cories. Hope they can survive the Ich Attack, because it didn't say anything on the label and the LFS people said they'd be OK.

Meanwhile I have a new GORGEOUS betta in the brand clean quarantine tank. it's a ten gallon and I think I will make it the betta's tank and buy a five gallon for quarantine. Should I treat the betta prophylactically?
