Questions Regarding FIshless Cycle

1. How do you measure ppm? I just shot like 5ml of ammonia with a syringe but i dont know how to do it specificially.


2. How long does it usually take for this to get going? Its a 60g tank.
 
I can't really answer the first part but believe there are sites around to calculate this for a tank. It's easier here (possibly) as in the metric system for everything.

On the second I would say anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks.
 
If you don't have an online calculator, you may have to do this using trial and error. After dosing, allow the water to circulate for a bit and perform a few tests for ammonia. If it is higher than your target range, cut back on your next dose.
