I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but...

Recently got a free 100g tank from a friend of a friend. Came with fish. One is an (I'm pretty sure) albino rainbow shark that won't work with the tropical tank I intend to set up. But, on looking it up, it's preferred temperatures overlap where I keep the goldfish tank. It's a 75g fairly heavily planted with driftwood, etc., sand substrate, with 4 fancy goldfish and 3 golden dojo loaches. Also the Boesmani Rainbows that came along with the shark-- research says they're compatible so long as you watch the goldfish don't get outcompeted for food. The shark, according to my reading, leaves middle and upper swimmers alone for the most part. Just not sure how they'll do with the goldfish's total lack of personal boundaries or the loaches preference for the substrate.

Similar water conditions but some areas pretty different.

There is commonality on parameters.

There are reasons to not do this, mainly the types of fish, cool water and tropical have different needs and can stress in less than optimal conditions. This makes illness a threat. Keeping up with a varied diet and good tank maintenance would be very important, and I would run really high gallons per hour in filtration.

Gallons per hour turnover in the water is tank size times 10 for Goldies.

It might be something possible until you get another tank.

Thanks. He's been chilling with the goldies the last few days until I figure out what I'm doing with him, but I'm leaning towards rehoming just watching him try to stay out of their way even with the multiple hiding spots.
