Hi guys,

Would anyone be able to identify this illness and advise treatment? On his tail and side. Originally thought he’d caught himself on something and damaged his scales.

Thanks!

Myo

I think your first diagnosis might be correct. The injury looks like a scrape type abrasion.
Besides parasites, Exterior illnesses on a fish manifest themselves as viral growths (Lymphocystis) or bacterial infections like (Columnaris) symptom, A white skin discoloration.

I’m hoping that’s all it is! Just a bit concerned as the scales appear quite lifted.
