Hi all,

all ive seen so far is stuff about setting up Co2 systems and flourishes and lots of other things i dont really understand... :/

all i was looking at getting was a single java fern on driftwood for a 10gal tank. do i really need to get Co2 tanks and fertilizer and certain substrate etc for that?

for a Java fern you don't need anything, just Fish in the tank to give it C02 and its poop will act as fertilizer. Java fern are ridiculously hard to kill.

Agreed. I have 2 Amazon Sword plants, 3 Anubias, and floating hornwort in the ten gallon, and they all do fine with betta poo fertilizer and no other additions. Java Fern'll do great.

Thank you!!!!! that is great news!!! just that i saw a java fern on a piece of DW and thought it would be really nice to have in the tank as with the betta fish i know they like plants. we have some silk ferns but some real plants would be nice :)
