Red algae good or bad

If the fish appear to be eating it readily it is probably OK to leave it, but I would keep an eye on it and remove it if it begins to get out of hand. A little algae is almost unavoidable in aquariums.
 
Very few fish eat red algae (SAE's flagfish to name 2). Red algae is an annoyance in a tank and hard to remove from plants and or decor. I would remove any decor and bleach it. Prune off all affected leaves on plants (if any). Overdosing Flourish excel or H2O2 spot treatments will kill it. One of the most dreaded forms of red algae is more commonly know as Black brush algae (BBA).
