Would it be better to buy cured liverock? Becuse there would be alot of die off on uncured because I plan to cycle my tank with it. Then there would be alot of nutreints in the tank that could lead to problems with alge and stuff. Is cycleing with live rock a bad idea because it will kill the stuff I want in it?

Thanks Bob

Cycling with liverock is an acceptable option. There will be alot of nutrients in the tank no matter what way you cycle, that is the whole way you get it cycled. You will do a major water change after the cycle is complete, to remove the unwanted nastiness.

Even if you use uncured rock you need to scrub off as much of the die off as you can before trying to cure it during the cycle. You wont get it all but it wont be a kiiler spike when you cycle. It should not kill the live stuff during the cycle. You might want to do a small PWC to help out.
