Sailfin Tang

I bought a sailfin tang about 3 days ago and he just hides. He likes to hide behind my rocks along the sand bed. Is this normal or could something be wrong?

Give him a few more days. Some fish need time to get used to their new surroundings. Mine did that for a bit.

They also need greens ! Dried seaweed etc !

This is how he sits. He acts like he is just sleeping. I have tested my water levels and everything is normal. I plan on doing a water change tomorrow. But i just dont know what exactly could be wrong if anything is.

They are chickens it took mine over 2 months to allow me to come up to the tank before hiding. He is friendly as can be now and comes right up to the glass when I come near

Right on. They are real timid until they get adjusted and even then they are skittish. Mine took a while to stand up to the other tangs, now he pushes them around. At a certain point, he will get braver, but be sure he has a good place to hide for now.
