Sand or Gravel??

What is the better substrate??

Not starting to be mean but there are 2 other topics about this and they are good about substrate. Just look up your title and you will find results. I would go with sand though easier to clean and fry can't get stuck!

I have 2 aquariums with sand and 1 with gravel. The sand looks nicer but I find the gravel much easier to clean. The sand gets tricky in that you have to hover the siphon just high enough that you'll only suck up the gunk and fish poop, all while trying hard to not suck up the sand. Then I find myself trying to return some sand from my bucket back in to my tanks. Whereas the gravel, I just use a gravel vac without any need for caution, which makes clean up a snap.

Plus the sand gets all compacted and I have to occasionally sift it around to loosen things up. definitely takes more work over all.
