sea shells for fw

Do sea shells pose a threat to fresh water. I heard it helps raise Ph. Is that true
 
Depends on your water composition. Shells will dissolve into soft water & raise both pH & KH. But in hard water, where the KH is already high, it won't do much.

Otherwise, as long as the shells are clean (& has no bad bugs - might want to boil first), should be OK.

Okay good. Because I'm selling them on here and wanted to make sure I didn't hurt anyone's tank. They are going to be boiled before I ship them
