Hi I have a pearl gourami, had it since august and I'm not sure if it's male or female. I'm pretty sure it's a male, because it has "fringe" on its pelvic fin (the one under it's belly, not sure if that's the right name for it) I read that males always have it but wasn't sure it it was supposed to be in the front or back, mine has it in the front. Also the red coloring, it's very very faint and when we vacuum it disappears almost entirely.

Thanks, she (who will need to be renamed from "Benny") was sold to me as a male.

Male Pearls have an orange glow to them near their front when preparing for spawning and don't usually get that rounded belly area which your fish appears to have. They also have a more elongated dorsal fin thanyours appears to have.
From this, I'd have to second , it's a female. ;)
