Our Petsmart had Dragonscale males listed as Crowntail females. For $3.99 instead of 9.99, the employee said that is the way they were labeled from the suppliers so that the price was fine. Maybe someone can pick up a good deal. They looked very nice. I was looking for a particular color female which they didn't have so it didn't work out for me.

Came home to discover that my little rescue betta (the one who lost the fight with the other betta) has built the best bubble nest I have ever seen! The nest is nearly half an inch tall! I guess he's one happy fish even if he is in a tiny temporary "tank" for the moment.

The other rescue has a big nest too, just not as impressive.

That looks like the nest from my daughter's Betta, after he got a 10G super planted tank! It also was sticking out of the water in the pic she sent me.

Yours and hers are the biggest bubble nests I have ever seen!!!

Oddly, my two biggest nests are from my recent rescues. Guess they are happy to not be sharing a cup anymore. Their fins have started to heal nicely as well.

I currently have eight male bettas.
Kaz (My boyfriend's initials)- purple with red fins- veiltail
Mister EpicFishington (BF named him )- red and steel blue- twin tail half moon
Cielo- Blue with emerald and red highlights- veiltail
Inferno- red with white tips- veiltail
Phantom- bought white, has developed red patches on fins- halfmoon
Fuego- (the prettiest) red with white streaks in his fins- halfmoon? bought as rare- I'll post some pics later
Dorado- Gold with purple highlights (very unique looking)- whatever Fuego is
Pistol- Light blue with hints of red and white- Whatever Fuego and Dorado are- I bought them all on the same day at the same store. They were selling them as "rare male bettas" for $8.99.

I got another male today. I now have 9

$10 is a steal... I payed $70 for my black betta. Then again I got him shipped in from Thailand. I love my little Ninja and he was worth every penny!

I have a dragon scale betta, he's very curious of everything and enjoys his ghost shrimp friend. They hang out together. He's green, red, blue, silvery. Love him to death, now to name him <3
